The Utzon Foundation was founded in 2006 with the purpose of erecting and owning the building that houses the Utzon Center in the city of Aalborg, Denmark.

In 2011, the Foundation acquired Can Lis, the Utzon family residence on the island of Mallorca.

Today, the Utzon Foundation own and rent out these two properties to architects and architecture-related companies. Aalborg University owns and manages the Utzon Archives, most of which is made publicly accessible online.
